Franklin boasts two wonderful quilt shops, a general sewing shop, antique shops with antique quilts for sale, and restaurants for most any taste bud.

A Stitch in Time (23 Macon Center Drive, Franklin, NC 28734; 828.524.3300)
A Stitch in Time specializes in colorful florals, 1930s fabric, modern quilts, Baby Lock sewing machines and Handi quilter machines. Favorite lines are Kaffe Fassett, Amy Butler, and Bonnie Christina (the owner's daughter!). Owner Maxine Ramey provides how-to demonstrations on "Maxi Makes" videos via the shop website.
